How We Killed the Romantics
Short-form experimental film, 3 minutes and 18 seconds ・ Completed January 2019

Although film isn't the usual medium I create my work in, I have been studying film in school since I was thirteen, and find that the format allows a wide range of creative opportunities. This film was created using a combination of found footage and footage of my own. Like much of my other work, this project was about isolation – the feeling of cutting oneself off from the world, though not entirely on purpose.

I found that this project allowed me to experiment with a lot of different creative outlets in one place. I love music, film, and writing, and this allowed me to combine all of those things into one piece. I would like to explore experimental filmmaking more in the future, but incorporate more elements of my usual art techniques and forms like drawing and painting.
